Director of Development

Moving Works is seeking to hire a Director of Development with insight and experience in growing donor support, acquiring major gifts, and securing grants to advance its vision and mission. This is a full-time paid position.

Expectations

Spiritual health is of the utmost importance and is a requirement of each staff member for the flourishing of the individual, the team, and the ministry. All staff members must maintain a strong, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and pursue His guidance in every facet of his or her life. They must live their lives in a way that doesn’t distort the Gospel or hinder the ministry work of Moving Works. Staff members must strive to exhibit integrity (Phil. 1:17), excellence (Col. 3:23), stewardship (Psalm 24:1) and dignity (Gen. 1:27).

Job Description

Define and implement initiatives for growing monthly recurring donations, annual corporate donations, major gifts, and foundation grants.
Cultivate and steward relationships among individuals, churches, organizations, and foundations to advance them toward faithful financial partnership.
Collaborate with the communications team to create an online marketing strategy to raise awareness of the ministry and increase financial partnerships.
Meet regularly with the Executive Director to review defined benchmarks and assess progress toward meeting strategic development goals.
Assist the executive team in strategically utilizing organizational funds to advance the vision and mission of the ministry.

Competencies and Characteristics

Holds an appreciation and understanding of the Moving Works’ mission and the ability to articulate its values and vision internally and externally.
Demonstrates servant leadership, appropriate tact and discretion, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Possesses an aptitude for recognizing areas of strategic growth and realizes the necessary steps to accomplish desired outcomes.

Experience

3+ years experience in professional fundraising and development.
Proven track record of success with comparable development goals.
A bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or other related field.

Provide direction and leadership among the creative team to produce marketing content that inspires and mobilizes people to action.
Meet regularly with the Executive Director to review defined benchmarks and assess progress toward meeting strategic organizational goals.

Moving Works is seeking to hire a video editor with insight and experience in independent film production, documentary storytelling, and post-production pipelines. This is a position that requires personal support-raising.

Expectations

Job Description

Help in pre-production story development.
Edit short-form, documentary projects from the paper edit to final export.
Assist in color grading, sound mixing, titling, and effects as needed.
Organize projects based on a standardized post-production process.
Share projects within a team environment.
Give and receive constructive feedback.
Work productively with the Creative Director and production team.

Competencies and Characteristics

Demonstrates servant leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence.
Confident in establishing the tone and direction a story needs to go.
Organized and dependable to complete tasks and goals in a given timeline.
Resourceful and able to effectively problem solve challenges that arise throughout the post-production process.

Experience

3+ years experience in film or television production
Advanced experience in Davinci Resolve and Adobe Creative Cloud Products, color correction and grading, and sound design.
Proven track record of success in a similar role.
A bachelor’s degree in film and television production or a related field.

Marketing Intern

At this time, Moving Works is primarily considering marketing intern applicants living in Austin, TX. This is an unpaid internship, so if salary is required, interns are asked to raise personal support to join the ministry.

Job Description

This internship is for a student who is pursuing a future in media ministry, communications, or marketing. The candidate must be willing to serve through a vast array of duties based on fluctuating needs. These duties may include: marketing research, website editing, social media development, connecting with churches and ministries, investigating new ways of sharing our films, and general tasks to increase ministry exposure to general audiences, churches, and ministries. This is a position for a self-motivated individual who demonstrates humble, Christ-like leadership and is focused on exalting the name of Christ above all other creative ambitions.
